It’s been months since I posted my last article, which was a watercolor cherry tree painting, but today, I thought drawing a peacekeeper from The Hunger Games would be a fun addition to the site.
Why A Peacekeeper Drawing?
I had only seen the first two Hunger Games movies until just a few days ago when I watched Mockingjay Part 1 with my lovely fiancée. Relative to the first two movies, it was awesome. Of course, different people have their preferences, but I really liked the third.
It had so much more… rebellion, which is the best part.
In one part of the movie, the camera zooms in closely on the mask of one of the peacekeepers while leading up to a really intense scene. I don’t want to spoil anything for those who haven’t seen it, but the scene ended up making me want to draw a peacekeeper. And besides, they remind me of Star Wars Stormtroopers, and who doesn’t love Stormtroopers?
Materials Used
- Any Paper
- I just used a sheet of a 5.5×8.5 Sketchbook that I had. I don’t recall the brand, but you can get a Strathmore Sketch Pad in that size for less than $10 online.
- Mechanical Pencil – Pentel Twist-Erase III
- This is what I used to create the sketch before adding ink.
- Fine-line Pens – Pilot Precise V5 Rolling Ball Pen
- These are all I used for the linework once the sketch was completed.
I used an awesome new fine-tip ballpoint pen that I bought from my local art store to create it, and it only took me about an hour and forty-five minutes to draw. That might sound like a long time, but it would have taken me AGES if I had made this on 8.5×11 paper.
Here’s the video of me drawing a peacekeeper:
My next project is actually a drawing of Luke Skywalker for a good friend of mine. Sadly, it’s not going as well as I had hoped, and It may end up getting pushed back further. I WILL get it finished, though… eventually.
Thanks for taking the time to read 🙂 Have a great day!
