Arrtx 60A Acrylic Markers Review | Open box of Arrtx Acrylic Markers sitting on desk

I’ve started getting into acrylic markers and recently got my hands on the new Arrtx 60-pack Regular Acrylic Markers. You know what that means? Review Time

If you’ve read anything else I’ve written, you know I like to cut to the chase, so let’s quit squabbling and dive straight into my review of these Arrtx Acrylic Markers. Here’s the marker in a nutshell, followed by some pros and cons:

Pros and Cons of the Arrtx 60A Acrylic Markers

Pros

  • The Box
    • The… the box? Yes, the box. Unlike other products, this box doubles as an upright storage solution for your markers. This means there is no need to purchase a separate storage solution (Nice!).
  • Color Variety
    • You’re getting 60 premium acrylic markers here. Markers, mind you, which don’t need to be shaken or pressed and have a variable line width tip. The set comes with 50 “regular” colors and then an additional 4 metallic and 6 neon colors. This is a good starting point if you’re looking for a beginner acrylic marker set.
  • Opacity
    • While I haven’t tested them on many different surfaces (yet), they had great coverage on the multimedia paper that I used them on. I plan to use these on one of my black-cover notebooks, and I can give an update here on how it turns out.
  • Price
    • The price of these is on par with what you would expect for the quality of the markers. I wouldn’t say it’s a steal but it’s definitely worth the price if you want top-notch acrylic markers.

Cons

  • Splatter When Opening
    • There were several times when painting with these that I would accidentally splatter some of the ink when removing one of the caps. I attempted to do it cautiously, but only so much can be done. The natural solution to this is just to avoid opening the caps right above or near your art, as it could splatter in unwanted locations.
  • Packaging Quirk
    • I might just sound ornery here, but markers 38 and C19 were reversed in the box (You can see it on my sampling page). For those particular colors, it’s no big deal since they were obviously not in the right spot. But if this is a common occurrence, then you might end up mislabeling your markers when it happens to two similar colors.

Should You Buy the 60A Arrtx Acrylic Markers?

You get 60 top-notch acrylic markers, the box doubles as an efficient storage solution, and the price is right. With all that and the only cons being potential splatter when opening and some markers being in the wrong spot, I’d say this is a must-have in your art supply repertoire.

Also, not having to shake or press the marker to get the ink flowing is a big win in my opinion. It doesn’t sound like much, but having to do that with every marker can be annoying to say the least.

Arrtx 60pk Regular Acrylic Markers Alternatives

If you’re looking for something a little different, whether it be price, quantity, or whatever else, I have a few items here for you to consider. I personally would pick the Arrtx markers over each of these, but they’re still good options!
